Help Victims of Natural Disasters in Panama,
Haiti, and Cuba
The Pan American Development Foundation is responding to intense flooding in Panama and has provided large-scale relief efforts in Haiti and Cuba following a series of devastating hurricanes.
Panama update: Weeks of heavy rains have forced over 3,500 people into shelters and President Martin Torrijos has declared a state of emergency in four regions. Hundreds of houses have been destroyed or damaged and thousands of people have been affected throughout 12 states. More rain is predicted for the area, which will increase the number affected and put further strain on management officials. PADF and corporate partners have already sent emergency shelter supplies but more is desperately needed.
Cuba and Haiti continue to suffer as clean-up begins in the aftermath of four hurricanes. Crop damage was heavy and food aid will be critical as the countries rebuild. In Haiti, nearly 60 percent of all crops were washed away. To prevent further food riots, we must act now.
